Transport Overhaul: PMS Celebrates Makinde’s New Terminal, Adjusts Traffic Flow for PDP Convention

The Oyo State Park Management System (PMS), under the leadership of Alhaji Wasiu Tomiwa Omolewa (a.k.a Tommy), has commended the Executive Governor of Oyo State Engr ‘Seyi Makinde for the successful commissioning of the Iwo road Bus terminal, describing the project as a major boost to the state’s transportation infrastructure and urban renewal agenda.
It would be recalled that the governor had commissioned the Ojoo and Challenge Bus Terminals, completing the project with the Iwo Road Mega Terminal commission by the former President of Nigeria, His Excellency Chief Olusegun Obasanjo.
Speaking in Ibadan on Friday, PMS authorities said the new terminals would enhance traffic coordination, improve commuter safety, and strengthen the state’s efforts to modernize public transportation.
In preparation for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) National Convention scheduled to hold in Ibadan, the PMS also announced temporary transport restrictions across parts of the state capital.
The directive affects Micra taxis, commercial tricycles (Keke), and inter-state buses operating within the state capital as well as the designated routes around the convention venue.

According to the PMS, the measure is aimed at ensuring smooth traffic flow, enhanced security, and orderly movement of delegates and visitors expected for the high-profile political gathering.
The management added that the restriction is a short-term adjustment and normal transport activities will resume immediately after the convention.
The PMS authorities urged transport operators and commuters to cooperate with the arrangement, noting that it is in the overall interest of maintaining order and showcasing Oyo State’s readiness to host national events.
Alhaji Tomiwa Omolewa however affirmed his members’ presence at the convention venue on Saturday and Sunday November 15-16, 2025 to ensure a hitch-free exercise as well as to showcase the hospitality nature of Ibadan to the world.
Governor Makinde’s administration has continued to emphasize the development of modern transport infrastructure as a cornerstone of its economic expansion and urban development policy. The newly inaugurated terminals are expected to serve as major hubs for regulated, efficient, and integrated transport services across the state.
