Senator Buhari Sympathises With Ayefele, Fresh FM Over Fire Incident, Pledges Support
The Senator representing Oyo North Senatorial District, AbdulFatai Buhari, has commiserated with renowned gospel musician, broadcaster, and founder of Fresh FM Nigeria, Dr. Olayinka Joel Ayefele (MON), over the fire incident that gutted parts of the station’s head office in Ibadan, Oyo State.

The inferno, which broke out during active broadcast operations, razed critical sections of the station, including the studios of Fresh 105.9 FM and Blast 98.3 FM, the newsroom, transmitter/server room, and other adjoining offices, destroying valuable equipment.
In a condolence message, Senator Buhari described the development as “sad and unfortunate,” noting that the incident was a huge loss not only to Ayefele but also to millions of listeners across Oyo State and the South-West.
“I received the news of the fire outbreak at the head office of Fresh FM Nigeria, Challenge, Ibadan, with great shock and sadness. My heartfelt condolences go to Dr. Yinka Ayefele and the entire staff of Fresh FM 105.9.
The station has become a trusted platform for credible news reporting, quality entertainment, and public enlightenment. This unfortunate incident is a major loss to the media space and its numerous listeners,” Senator Buhari said.

While praying for Ayefele and his team to find the strength to overcome the setback, Senator Buhari pledged his support to aid their recovery efforts.
“Fresh FM remains one of the most popular and reliable radio stations in Oyo State and beyond. I assure Dr. Ayefele and his management team of my support as they rebuild and recover from this sad occurrence,” he added.
