A member of All Progressives Congress in Ibadan North local government area of Oyo state, Engr. Khalil Mustapha Adegboyega (Repete) has joined Muslim brothers and sisters in Oyo state to celebrate the Eid-el-Fitr festival, which marks the end of the holy month of Ramadan.
Eid-el-Fitr is celebrated by Muslims
worldwide because it marks the end of the month-long dawn-to-sunset fasting of Ramadan.
During the last 30 days, Muslims fast from sunrise to sunset, avoiding food, drinks, and other pleasurable desires, taking the time to get closer to Allah (SWT) by improving their ibadah (worship) and increasing dhikr (remembrance of God)
Repete who had during Ramadan distributed food items to the needy, Widows, and Imate in his message urged the Muslim Ummah to use the end of Ramadan and the Eid-el-Fitr celebration to continue to practice acts of charity, and peaceful co-existence with their neighbors and to imbibe fully the tenets of Islam as taught by Prophet Mohamed (SAW)
He said Ramadan was a time of self-reflection and a renewed commitment to living a life of piety and peace, adding that, the holy month
teaches the importance of sacrifice, compassion, and generosity towards others, especially the less privileged in our society.
” I congratulate our Muslim brethren on the celebration of Eid-el-Fitri and pray that Almighty Allah will accept their prayers.
” Ramadan teaches us the importance of sacrifice, compassion, and generosity towards others, especially the less privileged in our society.
” Eid-el-Fitr celebration is a season of love and forgiveness, I enjoined the Muslim faithful to use the season to fend for the poor and the needy in line with Allah’s injunction to be our brother’s keeper,” he concluded.
