Oyo Youth Agency Chair, Falana Commends Planet 3R for Empowering 97 Youths

Hon. Adebowale Adebayo Falana, the Chairman of the Oyo State Agency for Youth Development, has commended a renowned recycling and manufacturing firm, also known as Planet 3R, for training and empowering 97 youth through waste-to-wealth in Pacesetter State.

An intensive program of six-week couples with both practical and theoretical aspects equipped participants with the skills needed to create locally made recycled products into eco-friendly sustainable products.

While speaking during the first batch of the Transform West Africa Project’s product demonstration and certification ceremony, Hon. Adebowale Falana congratulated all the participants for their spirit of courage and eagerness to recycle and advocate for making money from waste.

He further expressed the agency’s interest through the State government in collaborating with Planet 3R to promote youth empowerment and transform small and medium-scale enterprises, which are in line with the sustainable legacy leading to the prosperity agenda of His Excellency Engr ‘Seyi Makinde FNSE, DSSRS, the Executive Governor of Oyo State.

“We’re to join this beautiful moment of great accomplishment with Planet 3R, an event that showcased an exhibition of locally made recycled products crafted by the 97 students who completed a six-week training course on recycling, weaving, and others,” Adebowale said.

He, however, urged interested Oyo Youth to apply for the second batch of the training at the Youth Agency, Secretariat, Ibadan.

In his own remarks at the occasion, the Youth leader and acting Publicity Secretary of PDP in Oyo State, Hon. Ogunsina Michael applauded the CEO of Planet 3R, Ms. Adejoke Lasisi for her relentless efforts in making the waves as Planet 3R was one of the five organs selected in West Africa through “Transform Africa” project.

“Truly, if it’s from Ibadan, it must be of outstanding qualities, the participants today were in the happiest mood as they were ready to add creativity and innovation to entrepreneurs and become great personalities like you”

He urged the participants not to relent and make use of the gadgets given to them judiciously.

Also, representing the Honourable Commissioner for Environment and Natural Resources, Arc. Abdulmojeed Mogbonjubola, the Director of Environmental Health Services, Mrs. Bukola Areo, reiterated the Oyo State Government’s commitment to fostering sustainable waste management and environmental conservation.

She, however, applauded the efforts of an integrated waste recycling and manufacturing firm, Planet 3R, in providing educational and training opportunities for 97 youths in Oyo State through a waste-to-wealth program.

In their separate goodwill message, Mrs. Iyabo Ojogbede, the Manager of the Small and Medium Enterprise Development Agency of Nigeria (SMEDAN), and Mrs. Bolanle Emmanuel, the Oyo State NEPC Coordinator, expressed their agency’s readiness to partner with Planet 3R recycling firm on a mission to empower youth and women in the country.

Earlier in her speech, the CEO of Planet 3R, Adejoke Lasisi, shared the company’s long walk to stardom through consistency and foresight.

According to her, “Our goal at Planet 3R is to create a future in which sustainability and social impact coexist by partnering with government and international organizations and addressing significant needs for economic empowerment.”.

Adejoke shared the company’s aspirations to extend its operations beyond Ibadan.

She emphasized that Planet 3R is committed to fostering a sustainable future where economic development aligns with environmental stewardship.

Participants showcase their three-month learning with a lot of creative materials, showing the innovative potential of turning waste into wealth.
