Chairmen of the 33 Local Government Areas in Oyo State have congratulated Professor Musibau Adetunji Babatunde on his appointment as the new Secretary to the State Government (SSG) by Governor Seyi Makinde.

The council chairmen described the appointment as timely and well-deserved, noting that Professor Babatunde’s vast experience in governance, budgeting, and economic planning would further strengthen policy coordination and service delivery across the state.

They expressed confidence that his leadership as SSG would enhance the effectiveness of the state executive and deepen the implementation of the Makinde administration’s developmental agenda.

It would be recalled that Governor Makinde, on Monday, announced a minor cabinet reshuffle as part of efforts to reposition his administration for greater efficiency and improved performance.

As part of the reshuffle, Professor Babatunde was moved from his former position as Commissioner for Budget and Economic Planning to assume the role of Secretary to the State Government.

In the same announcement, the Governor relieved the former Secretary to the State Government, Professor Olanike Kudirat Adeyemo, of her appointment with immediate effect. The council chairmen acknowledged her contributions to the administration and wished her well in her future endeavours.

Further changes in the cabinet saw Barrister Temilolu Seun Ashamu redeployed from the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources to the Ministry of Budget and Economic Planning. Governor Makinde also announced his Senior Special Assistant on Public Works, Mr. Ademola Aderinto, as a commissioner-designate.
