Oyo Lawmaker, Oyekunle ‘DON’ Put Smiles On Faces Of Vulnerables With Cash In Constituency
The lawmaker representing Ibadan North Constituency 1, on Friday, empowered over 300 vulnerable men and women in his constituency with cash grants.
Hon. Folajimi Oyekunle who was represented by the his coordinators headed by Hon. Almoruf Adeleke explained that the gesture was aimed at boosting the morale of his constituents.
Hon. Folajimi stated that each beneficiary has been given the sum of N10,000 cash grant to uplift their small-scale business for them to become self-reliant.
He pointed out that the beneficiaries were carefully selected and drawn from wards across.
He said the gesture which will be the 10th of its kind in the last quarter of the year 2022 will be extended to more of the followers in his constituency where over 2000 constituents will benefit.
“We are going to make sure it extends to everyone and definitely will ensure everyone is a beneficiary from the constituency and over 2000 will benefit to enable our constituents to have means of belonging and cushioning the current socioeconomic hardship they were being faced with”. Folajimi stated.
Hon. Folajimi urged the beneficiaries to make use of what they benefited appropriately, for them to become self-reliant and have means of survival.
A beneficiary, Mrs. Adejumo, in an interview with BOWA MEDIA shortly after receiving her cash grant, thanked the lawmaker for the gesture and promised to use it appropriately.
Meanwhile, in an interview with BOWA MEDIA, a party chieftain from the constituency, Hon. Lobo lauded the efforts of the lawmaker for his concerns to his constituents.
According to him, the gesture accorded to the beneficiaries by the lawmaker will go a long way in boosting their socio-economic status, particularly rural women.
Hon. Ajobo enjoined the beneficiaries to make sure the cash grant given to them is appropriately used to enable them to become self-dependent.
