Oyo Govt. Pledges Quality Health Service For Residents

The Oyo State Government has said residents of Oyo State will keep enjoying uninterrupted health services through various policy thrusts in line with the best global practices.

The Head of Service, Mrs Olubunmi Oni, mni stated this during a stakeholders meeting on the Accountability Framework and Health fact sheet, held at Kakanfo – inn, Ring Road, Ibadan.

She said that the present administration in the state places premium on the general well-being of the people of the state.
The Head of Service said Governor Seyi Makinde, in collaboration with the local government council across the State, has completed 210 primary health care centres while 90 are at different stages of completion.

She said “this achievement was made possible through the repositioning of the primary health care board in compliance with the National Health Law of 2014, Governor Seyi Makinde policy direction is also evident in the success so far recorded by the State Health insurance agency”.

Oni added that the State Government is fostering a culture of transparency and accountability that will drive both the state and non- state actors in the health sector to continually improve the state health care system.

She reiterated further that the state government shall continue to implement quality health care services to the under five children, elderly people as well as surgery operations to the citizens.

She maintained that the framework would outline government commitment to transparency, efficiency, and effectiveness in health care services delivery.

She enjoined people of the state to embrace the opportunity to strengthen the healthcare system and work towards a healthier and more prosperous Oyo State.

In his remarks, the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Health, Dr. Olusoji Adeyanju said the purpose of the Accountability Framework Fact Sheet is to ensure good governance.

He said the accountability framework committee is not in place to witchhunt health workers in the state but for the efficient management of the state hospitals.
