Members of Staff of the Oyo State House of Assembly, under the aegis of Parliamentary Staff Association of Nigeria (PASAN) have joined their colleagues across the nation to embark on an indefinite strike.

They staged a peaceful protest in front of the Oyo State House of Assembly on Monday over the non-implementation of financial autonomy for the  legislature.

The protesters who gathered in their numbers displayed placards with different inscriptions  as they locked the entrance gate of the State House of Assembly.

Speaking, the chairman, Parliamentary Staff Associations of Nigeria, Oyo State Chapter, Comrade Yemi Alade, said they decided to embark on the strike action and peaceful protest after the Executive Arm had failed to address their demands for Legislative Autonomy which had generated lots of  controversies in the past years.

While corroborating the state PASAN Chairman, the State Chairman, Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC), Comrade Kayode Martins, called on the Executive Arm of government to do the needful and allow the operation of separation of powers among the three arms of government for the progress of each unit and the nation at large.
