Olopoeyan’s Resignation Not Acceptable – NNPP National
A delegation of the New Nigerian People’s Party, NNPP, last Thursday explained that the party, after much deliberation with the founder and leaders of the party, has rejected the resignation of its South West leader, Alhaji Olopoeyan.
The delegation headed by the representative of the founder, Chairman of the Board of Trustees (BoT), Chief Boniface Aniebonam, made the statement during a visit to the residence of Olopoeyan in Ibadan, Oyo state capital.
Com. Oginni, the NNPP National Secretary who spoke on behalf of the delegation said Olopoeyan’s resignation was not only shocking but also disturbing to all leaders and members of the party. He said that after considering the pros and cons of the resignation, both the NWC and the BoT rejected it and were not ready to allow Olopoeyan to leave the party.
” We are here representing the NWC, to come and see our leader, a leader of excellence.
” It is very shocking and disturbing to hear over the news that, our own
great Olopeyan is about to getting out of the NNPP. So we are here just with a message that his resignation is unacceptable; it is rejected both by the BoT chairman and the father of the great party, Chief Dr. Boniface Aniebonam, and all the entire NWC.
” We are here to convey the message to Chief Olopoeyan that his resignation letter is unacceptable and that we still need him to play more role of leadership in the party.” Comr. Ogini said.
During the NNPP NWC visit to Olopoeyan, members of the Oyo state party executive present includes, the
South West Chairman, Alh. Musibau Olayiwola, state chairperson, Hon. Ayobami Adekunle, State Publicity Secretary, Comr. Demola Oke,
Oyo south senatorial chairman, Alh. Moshood Adeshina, Oyo central senatorial chairma, Afolabi Rilwan, and others.
