The Mogaji of the Bada family compound, Oke Offa Atipe, Ibadan, Hon. Ibrahim Olasupo, has congratulated the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja, on his emergence as the Chairman of the Oyo State Council of Obas and Chiefs.

In a congratulatory message, Hon. Olasupo described the Olubadan’s emergence as well-deserved, noting that Oba Ladoja’s wealth of experience, wisdom and deep understanding of Ibadanland and Oyo State traditional institutions would contribute significantly to the effective leadership of the council.

He also commended Oyo State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde, for inaugurating the Oyo State Council of Obas and Chiefs after a 14-year hiatus, describing the move as a bold and historic step toward strengthening traditional governance and fostering unity among traditional rulers across the state.

According to him, the reconvening of the council provides a vital platform for traditional rulers to contribute meaningfully to governance, security, conflict resolution and grassroots development, while also preserving the cultural heritage of the state.

Governor Makinde recently inaugurated the council following the passage of relevant amendments that re-established its operations and provided for a rotational chairmanship. Under the arrangement, the Olubadan of Ibadanland will serve as chairman for a two-year tenure, after which the position will rotate to another traditional ruler in the state.
