Lagos NGO, PAMOGA Clothes Odeyale-Ona Ara Kids For Xmas
A Lagos based Non-governmental Organization, Power Against Mental Oppression and Growth Advisory (PAMOGA), has distributed Christmas wears and other items to children in Odeyale, a community in Ona Ara local government of Oyo state.
The program, which took place at the popular Community primary school, witnessed a large turn out of people from the area.
Speaking in an interview, the founder, PAMOGA, Taiwo Akinyemi explained that the vision was to complement government’s effort at reducing mental oppression in the society, by providing necessary assistance to the less privileged people no matter how small.
Akinyemi maintained that inability of some parents to provide basic home needs often lead to mental oppression, which is commonly part of the problems facing the large number of people, who may not be courageous to express what they were passing through.
He noted that the programme was particularly organized to ensure that the children of the less privileged also have a memorable Christmas and New year celebrations, like their peers from wealthy homes.
In his address, the chairman, Odeyale General Community Residents Association, Mr Tijani Olayiwola appreciated the group for extending it’s philanthropic gesture to the area, urging the government and others to emulate this worthy attitude, exhibited by the group, and bless others from their wealth, to make the society a better place to live.
Responding, one of the parents, Mrs. Rukayat Akinpelu expressed gratitude to the group for putting smiles on the faces of their wards, calling on government and well meaning Nigerians to support the initiative.
The kids in their hundreds trooped out with their parents to receive PAMOGA team, who are majorly corps members serving in Lagos.
