Just In: Another Council Vice Chairman Suspended In Ibadan Over Alleged Embezzlement, Gross Misconduct
The executive vice Chairman of Ona Ara local government, Hon. Kunle Balogun has been suspended indefinitely.
Balogun’s suspension was pronounced by the Council’s leader of the House, Hon. Olapade Fatai during the plenary session of the lawmakers at the council secretariat, Akaran on Wednesday.
The allegations leveled again the suspended Vice Chairman, who is also the Political Head of Inukan Local Council Development Area were all said to be substantiated before the Oyo state House of Assembly before carrying the suspension.
From the information gathered, it was revealed that, Hon. Balogun has misappropriated some money under his care for the development of some communities within Inukan LCDA. Other accusations included Gross Misconduct, Public embarrassment, and Abuse of Power.
While speaking with our correspondent on the phone, the leader of the House, Hon. Olapade Fatai also said the suspended Vice chairman is too arrogant to perform his assigned duty.
According to the House leader, he said the suspension was carried out with due process as 10 out of 11 councilors supported the suspension motion during the House sitting.
