Akeem Salawu, convener of Ilana Mekunu, has called for fairness, inclusion, and political balance in governance across Oyo State as he extended New Month greetings to residents.
In a statement marking the beginning of May, Salawu urged citizens to embrace unity and shared responsibility in the pursuit of development, stressing that the state belongs to all geopolitical zones, including Ibadan, Oke-Ogun, Ogbomoso, Ibarapa, and Oyo.
He noted that sustainable progress can only be achieved when governance reflects equity and inclusiveness, ensuring that no zone feels marginalized or excluded from decision-making processes.
According to him, balanced distribution of power and resources is critical to fostering peace, strengthening trust among citizens, and driving meaningful development across the state.
Salawu further encouraged residents to rise above divisions and work collectively towards building a more united and prosperous state.
He concluded by wishing citizens a hopeful and progressive month ahead, reiterating the need for cooperation in advancing the common good.
