Ido Deputy House Leader Denies Suspension of Principal Officers, Alleges Plot to Destabilise APM

The Deputy House Leader of the Ido Local Government Legislative Council, Hon. Oyepeju Kazeem, has dismissed reports alleging the suspension of three principal officers of the council and a purported leadership reshuffle, describing the claims as false and politically motivated.
Kazeem, in a statement made available to journalists, said there was no crisis within the legislative arm of the council, insisting that the reports were the handiwork of individuals seeking to create unnecessary political tension within the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) in Ido Local Government.

He alleged that certain elements were deliberately spreading misinformation to destabilise the party and advance the political interests of Hon. Remi Oseni, whom he described as an opposition candidate for the Oyo South Senatorial District.
According to the deputy house leader, it has become a recurring practice for some politicians in Ido Local Government to instigate crises and sow disunity within their political party whenever elections approach, with the intention of working for Remi Oseni.
Kazeem urged members of the APM, as well as party leaders and stakeholders, to remain vigilant and resist attempts by what he described as “self-serving elements” to undermine the unity and stability of the party.

He called on the leadership of the party to take proactive measures to prevent actions capable of causing division and weakening the APM’s structure in Ido Local Government.

The deputy house leader further appealed to party faithful to disregard what he termed unfounded claims regarding the suspension of principal officers and remain committed to the collective interest of strengthening the party ahead of future political activities.
