Ibadan North East Chair, Akintayo, Doles Out N250,000 To Victims Of Orita Aperin Market Fire
The Executive Chairman of Ibadan North East local government area of Oyo state, Hon. Ibrahim Akintayo, has donated a sum of N250,000 to traders in the burnt Orita Aperin market in Ibadan.
Akintayo made the donation after visited the burnt market second time within days with his council’s political and management staff.
He noted that the donation was part of his personal efforts to help alleviate the plight of the traders who lost goods and cash in the fire.
Responding, one of the affected traders who spoke with journalists, thanked the council chairman for his kind gesture and humanitarian services for his people, and promised that they will reciprocate his good gestures by voting for him for second come April during the state local government election.
Akintayo, in his earlier visit to the scene, advised the traders to be conscious of the kind of occurrence when building the shops next time, and urged them to take precautions and make individual efforts to protect their goods.
