I Am Happy, My Father Clocks 80, Alli Hails Olubadan

The candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo South senatorial district, Akogun Sharafadeen Alli on Tuesday described Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Lekan Balogun as a loving father for cares for his children.

He said he was happy that his father, the Olubadan clocks 80 with a sound health.

Alli who stated this in a statement he personally signed said the ancient city has experienced many developments after his enthronement.

The former Secretary to the state government further said Ibadanland would always be grateful for the contributions of the Olubadan towards the development of the city.

He said; “today marks another history in the this great city. I am happy my father clocks 80. He was a detribalised Nigerian. He was a lecturer at the Amadu Bello University, Saria in Kaduna state. He was a senator, Federal Republic of Nigeria. A distinguished Nigerian and respected leader before he became Olubadan. I celebrate him.

“I am wishing him a long life and more prosperity. His reign has witness more development in recent time. He has proved to be politically neutral and we love him. On behalf of progressives in Oyo state and my family, I am saying congratulations to you sir.”

The former chief of staff to the state governor therefore said he was optimistic that Ibadan land will witness more development and prosperity during the time of Oba Lekan Balogun.
