West Midlands Open University, Ibadan, Oyo state has received licensing and formal approval from the National University Commission (NUC) to offer degree-granting programs online in Nigeria as one of the first in the country
The Executive Secretary, of NUC, Prof. Abubakar Rasheed, made the presentation of provisional licenses to West Midlands Open University and 36 other Private Universities
Degree Programs to be offered at WMOU include; BSc.Business and Finance, B.Sc Business and Marketing, B.Sc Business and Human Resource Management, BSc.Business Management, B.Sc Economics
According to the mission of the new university, West Midlands Open University is dedicated to preparing students for an increasingly diverse technological business world. It will develop high-quality professionals and scholars who are committed to the pursuit of excellence and are endowed with vision, courage, and dedication.
While the vision of the University is said to catalyze national development and global competitiveness by utilizing sustainable technologies and high-quality programs to provide training and education to learners.
West Midlands Open University is owned by an Ibadanland high chief, Adebayo Akande MFR.
