The Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde’s statement about the flagbearer of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) during the 2023 presidential election, Atiku Abubakar on not yet reached out to him over the recent explosion in Ibadan is trending on social media, and all major news dissemination platforms since Monday evening.

Makinde, a member of the PDP, made this disclosure while thanking the presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), Peter Obi who visited him to commiserate with the people of Oyo state. He said, only his party candidate, Atiku Abubakar is left to call him to sympathize.

”I want to thank you especially for the visit. Out of the 3 major candidates who contested the 2023 election, only Atiku Abubakar, my leader, and our candidate haven’t called to commiserate the state,” Makinde said in the video which has gone viral on social media.

“I am saying this openly so that our leaders will know that we have time for politics and others. I want to thank you once again for coming,” Makinde said.

Atiku in his Facebook post of January 17 said “I wish to express my condolences to the good people and government of Oyo State over the explosion that rocked the capital city of Ibadan late yesterday night.
