Ex-Oyo Fed. Lawmaker Drags Driver to Court Over Alleged Threat
Nigerian Police on Tuesday arraigned a 41-year-old driver, Nurudeen Ogunbona before an Iyaganku Chief Magistrates’ Court for allegedly threatening the life of his boss, Hon. Adedapo Lam-Adesina.

Ogunbona, whose address was not disclosed, is facing two counts: threat to life and conduct likely to cause a breach of the peace. He pleaded not guilty to the charges.
According to the police prosecutor, Corporal Akeem Akinloye, the defendant allegedly sent threatening text messages and voice notes to Lam-Adesina in July, claiming he would “deal with him.” The incident reportedly occurred at about 10:30 a.m. at the lawmaker’s residence in the Alalubosa GRA area of Ibadan.
Cpl. Akinloye told the court that the defendant’s actions were capable of inciting public disorder and posed a serious threat to the personal safety of the complainant. He noted that the offences contravened Sections 86 and 249 (D) of the Criminal Code Laws of Oyo State, 2000.
Chief Magistrate Olabisi Ogunkanmi granted bail to the defendant in the sum of ₦250,000, with two sureties in like sum. One of the sureties, the court ruled, must be a relative of the defendant.

The case was adjourned to December 8 for further hearing.
