Hon. Sanda Sikiru Oyedele, the Executive Chairman of Egbeda Local Government, has officially commissioned the newly renovated and remodelled Multipurpose Hall located within the SDP premises in Gbagi. The upgraded facility, which stands as a testament to the administration’s focus on urban renewal, has been formally renamed the Tamunominini Multipurpose Hall.

The ceremony was graced by the First Lady of Oyo State, Her Excellency Tamunominini Olufunke Makinde, who performed the official commissioning. Her presence underscored the state’s support for local initiatives that bridge the gap between governance and the citizenry.

During the event, Hon. Oyedele, who also serves as the Chairman of the Forum of Local Government Chairmen in Oyo State, emphasized that the transformation of the hall is a cornerstone of his administration’s commitment to providing functional public spaces. He noted that the project is designed to foster community engagement and provide a dignified venue for social and official activities, reaffirming his resolve to implement initiatives that directly improve the living standards of Egbeda residents.

In her keynote address, Mrs. Makinde lauded the council chairman for his dedication to impactful projects, urging other local government leaders across the state to follow suit. She specifically highlighted the role of such facilities in strengthening the marriage institution, noting that a conducive environment for the solemnization of unions is vital for building stable families and communities.

The event also served as a platform for a major healthcare intervention. Shifting focus to the well-being of the populace, the First Lady spoke extensively on the benefits of the Oyo State Health Insurance Agency (OYSHIA). She explained that the scheme is a vital tool for the elderly and vulnerable to access affordable, quality medical care, including surgery and the management of chronic conditions like hypertension and diabetes.
