Don’t Allow Them To Upturn The Party Mandate Given To Fola – Group Begs Gov. Makinde, Oyo PDP Chair

A political group, ‘Seyi O tun Seyii’ in the Ibadan North local government area of Oyo state has urged governor Seyi Makinde and Oyo People’s Democratic Party not to consider switching the party mandate, given to Hon. Folajimi Oyekunle (DON) for the second-placed aspirant, Olufunke Olajide, comforter, in Ibadan North state constituency I.

The group, in a statement addressed to governor Seyi Makinde, the state party chairman, Dayo Ogungbenro made available pressmen in Ibadan pleaded with the duo not to allow self-centered stakeholders and party leaders in Ibadan North local government to overturn the Will of the party faithful in the local government, as a rumor is going around that, there is an ongoing process to substitute the name of the constituency I assembly primary election winner, Hon. Folajimi Oyekunle (DON) with the defeated aspirant, Hon. Comforter Olufunke Olajide.

In their statement, the group informed, governor Seyi Makinde and the state party that, the primary election process for Ibadan North local government constituency 1, was the fairest and rancor free party primaries ever in the history of the constituency, added that the winner of the primary, Oyekunle won on merit.

Statement read:

To our indispensable party leader, His Excellency, Seyi Makinde, and state party executives, it is our pleasure to congratulate you on the just concluded party primaries in the state, including the one that produced His Excellency, Atiku Abubakar as our party presidential flag bearer.

But, it is very important to notify you of some self-centered, and enemy of the party making effort to alter the interest of the party in our local government, Ibadan North constituency I to be precise.

Your excellency sir, it was glaring that, when the votes were counted after the held party primary for Ibadan North constituency one that, Hon. Fola won the contest, his he was declared the winner after certification by Mr. Sheriff Yussuf, a returning officer assigned for the election.

 

Your Excellency sir, Hon. Fola won with 8 votes to defeat his closest rival, Hon. Comforter Olufunke Olajide scored 6 votes. There was no argument on the result of the election, the delegated delegates voted and the result favored the winner.

Your Excellency sir, the INEC officers present, Security personnel, and media houses present confirmed that the held primary election was free and fair, as the party choice was chosen through peaceful election.

Your Excellency sir, aside from different online platforms that reported the peaceful and coordinated primary election, the state broadcasting service, BCOS also covered the event and was broadcast during their news program, a video clip is attached for your confirmation sir.

 

Your excellency sir, as a leader of the party, we urged you to continue to uphold your integrity, love, and decision to move the party forward by affirming the decision of the party delegates in just concluded party primaries in the state, especially for Ibadan North local government.

Your Excellency sir, we believed in your decision, as faithful party members and your unquestionable loyalists, all we want from you are to affirm the candidature of Hon. Fola Folajimi is the rightful winner of the conducted Assembly primary in Ibadan North constituency 1.
