Hon. Rasaq Mabaje has emerged as the chairmanship candidate of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) for the forthcoming local government election in Ido Local Government Area of Oyo State.
Mabaje was endorsed by the party’s apex leaders during a stakeholders’ meeting held on Sunday to determine the party’s flagbearer for the December 29 local government election.
According to sources at the meeting, Mabaje secured the backing of 14 out of the 18 stakeholders who participated in the voting process, emerging as the preferred candidate to represent the party in the poll.
His emergence followed consultations among party leaders and stakeholders aimed at ensuring unity and presenting a formidable candidate for the election.
The decision is expected to strengthen the APM’s preparations for the council election as the party intensifies efforts to mobilise support across the local government.
