Hon. Olajide Olatoye, the elder brother of late Temitope Olatoye, aka ‘Sugar on Thursday led family and loyalists of the former federal lawmaker from Lagelu/Akinyele Constituency into PDP in Lagelu Local Government.
According to state PDP PRO, Engr. Akeem Olatunji, he said his party, PDP received hundreds of All Progressive Congress party members from Lagelu Local government into the ruling party.
Olatunji wrote : Even when Governor Seyi Makinde is busy with Ondo State election to ensure victory for Eyitayo Jegede and PDP, Oyo State PDP is recovering defectors from the opposition parties in Oyo State.
” The PDP family in Oyo State today received thousands of decampees into her fold as the Olatoye Sugar political structure led by Late Olatoye Sugar’d blood brother, Big Daddy, collapsed into PDP in Lagelu Local Government.
” Hundreds of APC members also joined PDP in the local government with a promise to contribute their own efforts to strengthen PDP in the council Area.
” To receive the defectors is the PDP State Deputy Chairman, Hon James Olukunle, PDP State Vice Chairman, Hon Mufutau Ogunremi, State PDP Women Leader, Alhaja Wulemot Ibitoye, State PDP Youths Leader, Asiwaju Adekola Adeoye, State PDP Fin Sec, Hakeem Arinola, State PDP Publicity Secretary, Engr Akeem Olatunji, the Leader of PDP in Lagelu Local Government, Elder Okeyode, Special Adviser to the Governor on Local Governments and Chieftaincy Matters, Asiwaju Yemi Aderibigbe, Hon Segun Olayiwola, State House of Assembly Member representing Lagelu, Hon Akintunde AKT, Hon Segun Olaleye Radical and other Leaders.
” It is now evident that Governor Seyi Makinde is marketable and his performance is yielding good results for the party.
Olatoye Temitope Sugar a former APC member in Oyo state
was a member of the Federal House of Representatives representing Lagelu / Akinyele Federal Constituency and the chairman, House Committee on Urban Development and Regional Planning for the Federal Republic of Nigeria.He was also a senatorial candidate for Oyo central under the platform of Action Democratic Party in the 2019 elections.
Sugar was shot in Lalupon on 9 March 2019. He was quickly rushed to the University College Hospital, Ibadan where he later died as a result of his gunshot wounds
