The youth-driven political advocacy group, Bimbo Adekanmbi Support for Excellence (BASE) Movement, has unveiled its official social media platforms as part of efforts to mobilise young people across Oyo State ahead of the 2027 governorship election.

The movement called on students, professionals, artisans, entrepreneurs, members of the Oyo diaspora and other volunteers interested in community development to join its growing network and actively participate in promoting good governance and civic engagement.

Speaking in a statement on Friday, the Media Coordinator of the movement, Akindele Alabi, said BASE was established to provide a platform for young people to contribute meaningfully to the state’s development by supporting a leader they believe possesses the competence, integrity and experience to sustain Oyo State’s progress.

According to him, the movement is designed to go beyond conventional political mobilisation by positioning youths not merely as campaign supporters but as partners in governance, community champions, innovators and agents of sustainable development.

Alabi described BASE as a statewide youth mobilisation initiative built around the values of integrity, humanity and excellence in support of the political vision of Bimbo Adekanmbi.

“The movement is founded on the conviction that the future belongs to those who are willing to prepare for it and work towards it,” he said.

He announced that the movement’s official communication channels are now operational, with its email address listed as iam4base2027@gmail.com, while supporters can also connect through its Facebook page, BASE – Bimbo Adekanmbi Support for Excellence, and its X (formerly Twitter) handle, @BASE2027.

Alabi urged youth across the state’s geopolitical zones to follow the platforms for regular updates, civic engagement activities, grassroots mobilisation and volunteer opportunities.

He further disclosed that membership registration for interested individuals would officially commence on Saturday, August 1, from 6pm nigerian time, encouraging prospective members to monitor the movement’s official communication channels for registration details and subsequent activities.

“We encourage everyone interested in joining the movement to stay tuned for updates as registration opens on August 1,” Alabi stated.
