An Oyo state-based Socio-Political Movement, Apero Mekunu, has felicitated with Christians in Oyo state on this year’s Easter celebrations.
Easter is celebrated by Christians as a joyous holiday because it represents the fulfillment of the prophecies of the Old Testament and the revelation of God’s salvific plan for all of humankind.
The movement, in a goodwill message issued and released to the press by its coordinator, Akeem Salawu, in Ibadan, Oyo state capital, on Sunday, said witnessing Easter is a special grace from God, given the prevailing situation of every individual, and urged all Christians to remember the sacrifice that Jesus made.
Apero Mekunu Movement said Easter is very significant because it is an annual event marking the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead
Part of the message reads:
” As we celebrate this season, we remember the sacrifice that Jesus Christ made, laying down His life so that we can have hope, peace, and a fresh start. His love was selfless, and His example reminds us that change starts with each of us.
” Let’s carry that same spirit into our everyday lives. Whether it’s standing up for what’s right, helping our neighbors, or simply choosing kindness over silence, we all have a role to play in building a better tomorrow.
” From all of us at the Apero Mekunu Movement, we wish you a joyful and meaningful Easter. May this season bring strength, renewal, and a deep sense of purpose to you and your family. Let’s keep doing our part.” The movement quoted.
