The Apero Mekunu Movement, a socio-political group committed to grassroots advocacy and social justice, has initiated a special outreach, an enlightenment programme designed for the people at the grassroot levels, with the aim of empowering them with knowledge and awareness to take ownership of their right–to choose credible leaders.
As part of this noble initiative, Apero Mekunu team have started a systematic movement from one community to another. The team orientate and educate the people that it is not only their privilege but also their inalienable right to choose the right, credible, and genuinely wanted representatives, leaders who will place the people’s welfare and interests above personal gain or political manipulation.
The journey of this outreach commenced in Oyo East. In furtherance of this cause, Apero Mekunu convened a meeting at Kanisuru Oko Oba Community on the 15th of September, 2025, a gathering that brought together men, women, and youth. The people of the community were enlightened on the future of their political and social participation and how their votes can speak for them.
During Apero Mekunu meeting with Kanisuru people, one of the representative of Apero Mekunu said: “Your vote is your voice. You have the right to choose someone who truly represents your interests, someone who sees you, hears you, and works for you”
At the core of Apero Mekunu Movement lies one central mission: to make the masses (Mekunu) understand and embrace the fact that they have the absolute right to demand liberty, equity, and meaningful change through the power of their ballot.
