A Canada-based Transport Manager, Ibrahim Ismail has described the Tribunal validation of the victory of Senator Sharafadeen Abiodun Alli as a testament to the resilience of Nigeria’s democratic institutions and reaffirms that courts remain the hope of the common man.

Yesterday, a three-man tribunal headed by Justice A. M. Yakubu dismissed the petition filed by the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Joseph Tegbe, who challenged the February 25, 2023 victory of Alli and ordered him to pay the sum of N500,000 each to the three respondents of Alli, APC, and INEC.

Ibrahim Islamil who is the chairman, of Sharafadeen Alli Vanguard in Canada said the judgment is an indication that the Nigerian court’s stand on justice and its democracy is moving in the right direction with a prospect of meeting up with the global standard

Sharafadeen Alli Vanguard in Canada who spoke with our correspondent on the telephone from Canada while reacting to the development explained that, the people of Oyo state already knew in their mind that, PDP and its candidate, Joseph Tegbe were only chasing shadows.

He said the triumph at the tribunal stands as a testament to the resilience of Nigeria’s democratic institutions and reaffirms that our courts remain the hope of the common man.

” The court reaffirming the victory of Senator Sharafadeen Alli is a sign that, Nigeria’s democracy is nearing expectation, the verdict was the expectation of people of Oyo state, especially residents of Oyo south senatorial district.

” PDP and its candidate, Joseph Tegbe should have displayed good spirit of sportsmanship by congratulating and declaring support for the winner of the Oyo South senatorial election, but they chose to contest the election results, which is within their rights. Now that the election and the results have been upheld by the Court, in favor of Alli’ the people’s choice, I hope they will embrace the verdict and do the needful.

” I Congratulate Senator Sharafadeen Alli on his well-deserved victory at the National Election Tribunal Court I believed that Senator Alli, a true democrat and administrator, would demonstrate his act of magnanimity and extend hands of unity to those who may not have been favored by the court’s decision.

” “I also congratulate the people of Oyo state, Oyo south senatorial district, and the leadership of Oyo All Progressive Congress for their steadfastness in the face of adversity”, Ibrahim Ismail stated.
