The Halleluyah Political Reformed Movement (HPRM) has described the recent communiqués issued by the Oyo North Senatorial District Executive of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the forum of former political office holders in Oke Ogun as “panicky and reactionary,” saying they were born out of fear over the exit of Senator Hosea Ayoola Agboola, popularly known as Halleluyah, from the party.

In a communiqué issued at the end of its meeting held in Iseyin on Tuesday, October 21, 2025, the HPRM leadership said the departure of Senator Agboola, a former Deputy Chief Whip of the Senate and a key political figure in Oyo State, has created a “big vacuum” that would be difficult for the PDP to fill.

According to the movement, attempts by certain PDP leaders to downplay the influence and contributions of Senator Agboola in the politics of Oyo State were “ridiculous and laughable,” noting that records from the 2023 general elections clearly showed his strategic importance to the party’s victories in Oke Ogun and beyond.

The communiqué stated that while PDP won the House of Representatives and House of Assembly seats in Agboola’s immediate constituencies under his coordination, several of his critics within the party, including prominent figures from Kisi and Atisbo, lost their respective elections.

“It is unfortunate that instead of engaging in sober reflection on the internal injustices, impositions and exclusionary politics that have weakened the PDP in recent times, some leaders have resorted to issuing communiqués filled with lies and personal attacks,” the statement read.

The movement emphasized that Senator Agboola’s decision to leave the PDP was guided by conviction and principle, not personal gain, saying it reflected his long-standing com, mitment to truth, fairness and inclusiveness in governance and party politics.

“No amount of propaganda or coordinated attacks can erase Senator Agboola’s record of service and his contributions to the PDP’s growth over the years,” HPRM added, describing him as a “distinguished leader and bridge-builder” who played a pivotal role in the Omituntun 1.0 and Omituntun 2.0 electoral victories of Governor Seyi Makinde.

Reaffirming its loyalty to Senator Agboola, the movement pledged to continue promoting inclusive and progressive politics for the collective good of Oyo North Senatorial District and Oyo State at large.

The communiqué further urged those making “reckless and careless” statements against Senator Agboola to desist, warning that “the people of Oke Ogun and Oyo State know their true leaders and will always recognize those who have genuinely worked for their empowerment and development.”

“The political relevance of Senator Hosea Ayoola Agboola transcends party boundaries,” the group declared. “His network of loyal supporters and his commitment to grassroots development continue to speak louder than the noise of detractors.”

The Halleluyah Political Reformed Movement called on its coordinators, ward and local leaders, and supporters across Oyo State to remain calm, united and focused as it works with Senator Agboola to chart a new political direction for the people of Oke Ogun and Oyo North.
