Adeseun Ogundoyin Poly Holds 2024/2025 Matriculation Ceremony

The 2024/2025 matriculation ceremony of Adeseun Ogundoyin Polytechnic, Eruwa, marked a new chapter for newly admitted students, comprising both National Diploma (ND) and Higher National Diploma (HND) entrants. The event, held at the institution, brought together members of the Governing Council, management team, and dignitaries from the Oyo State Ministry of Education, Science, and Technology, alongside faculty, staff, and students.

The ceremony officially commenced with the Acting Registrar, Mr. Oladipo, inviting the Acting Rector, Dr. Gbade Akinteye, to declare the occasion open. In his opening remarks, Dr. Akinteye welcomed the matriculating students and encouraged them to make the most of their academic journey at the polytechnic. He highlighted the institution’s achievements, including its recent third-place national ranking among Nigerian polytechnics and the victory of its students at the Oyo State Inter-Campus Debate Competition.

Dr. Akinteye emphasized the importance of academic excellence and holistic development, urging the students to engage actively in both curricular and extracurricular activities. “Your time here is not just about earning a certificate; it’s about shaping your future and making a positive impact on the world around you,” he remarked.

Delivering the keynote address, the Director of Higher Education, Mr. Adewale Oluwole, representing the Oyo State Commissioner for Education, Science, and Technology, Prof. Saliu Adelabu, encouraged the students to seize the opportunities available to them. “I advise the students here to make the best use of opportunities available in this institution. Make your impact in affecting humanity positively,” he said. Mr. Oluwole also commended Governor Seyi Makinde for his unwavering commitment to improving the education sector in Oyo State, which has directly benefited institutions like Adeseun Ogundoyin Polytechnic.

The ceremony also had in attendance the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Education, Science, and Technology, represented by Mr. Akande Bamidele; Dr. Rasheed, another representative of the Director of Higher Education; the Head of Library, Mrs. Oshinwole; and Mr. Ismaila Babatunde, a representative from the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB). Members of the academic and non-academic staff, faculty officers, and the Students’ Union were also present to witness the historic event.

The Directorate of Students’ Affairs also congratulated the new students and assured them of the institution’s commitment to their welfare and growth.
