The Executive Chairman of Ido Local Government, Hon. Sheriff Aderemi Adeojo, has urged residents to cooperate with security agencies in curbing the influx of illegal immigrants and addressing the potential threats associated with it.
Hon. Adeojo made this call during the monthly security meeting held with various security agencies in the council area. He emphasized the need for collective vigilance and proactive collaboration to safeguard the community.
“I call on all residents to support our efforts in tackling illegal immigration and promoting community safety. Together, we can build a secure and prosperous Ido for all. I also urge everyone to promptly report any suspicious activities to the relevant authorities,” Adeojo stated.
The meeting, which brought together representatives from the Nigeria Police Force, Department of State Services (DSS), Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Operation Burst, Nigeria Immigration Service, Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), and Force Intelligence Bureau (FIB), focused on strengthening inter-agency cooperation and devising strategic approaches to enhance security across the local government.
In their separate remarks, the security operatives commended Hon. Adeojo for his unwavering support and timely interventions in ensuring that Ido Local Government remains peaceful and secure.
Present at the meeting were the Vice Chairman, Barr. Olayemi Oluwashina; Secretary to the Local Government, Alhaji Kamorudeen Gbadamosi; Chief of Staff to the Executive Chairman, Hon. AbdulAzeez Yahaya; Supervisor Councillors; Head of Local Government Administration, Alhaji Aminu Sarafadeen; and the Director of Administration and General Services, Mrs. T. L. Adeshina, among others.
