The Executive Chairman of Ido Local Government Area of Oyo State, Hon. Sheriff Adeojo, has commended Governor Seyi Makinde for selecting former Commissioner for Finance and Budgeting, Hon. Bimbo Adekanmbi, as his preferred successor ahead of the next governorship election in the state.

Adeojo described Adekanmbi as a seasoned administrator and technocrat with vast experience in politics, economics, finance, and public administration, noting that he possesses the leadership qualities needed to sustain the developmental agenda of the current administration under the proposed “Omituntun 3.0” initiative.

The Ido council boss made the remarks while reacting to Governor Makinde’s recent announcement of Adekanmbi as the candidate of the , Allied Peoples Movement (APM) for the forthcoming governorship election in Oyo State.

According to Adeojo, the governor’s decision was informed by his confidence in Adekanmbi’s competence, vision, and ability to consolidate on the achievements of the present administration.
“Governor Makinde sees great potential in Bimbo Adekanmbi, and that is why he chose him as his successor,” he said.

He recalled that the announcement ended months of political speculation and consultations over who would emerge as the governor’s preferred candidate within the party.

While acknowledging that other governorship aspirants in the APM were equally qualified and capable of advancing the Omituntun agenda, Adeojo stressed that the party could only produce one flagbearer.

He therefore appealed to all aspirants and party stakeholders to support Adekanmbi and work together to ensure the party’s victory in the next governorship election.
