Easter: Olayanju Sends Message To Christians, Irepo, Olorunsogo Residents
Oyo state House of Assembly lawmaker, Hon. Qozeem Olayanju has urged Christians in his constituency, state and the world over to use the Easter period to pray against the COVID-19 pandemic.
Hon. Olayanju, Igbeti born lawmaker said the Easter period is a reminder to Christians of the great sacrifice of Jesus Christ, through whom God’s grand plan for the salvation of mankind was actualised.
He charged Christians to manifest love, care and obedience, moreover to continue to obey directive of government and health workers during this pandemic so as to portray the lessons of the Holy week in positive light.
“COVID-19 is today the biggest threat to humanity. We have no other choice but to fight this mass killer virus with prayers and adhering to directives. It is a matter of time, but before we won, we need to bear the economic, social and physical challenges”.
Hon. Olayanju restated the need for people to stick to lockdown order and social distances directive at this crucial period, said thou, it is social and economic challenging but such directives are the measures to prevent the spread of the deadly virus, as the country cannot risk unwanted spread of the virus beyond what has been recorded at the moment, ” he said.
In his last message, Olayanju appealed to people of Oyo state to continue to hold on to hopes and prayers, said governor Seyi Makinde government is putting square pegs in all round holes for better living of Oyo state residents.
