Roadside Trading: Oyo Govt Reduces Rent In Scout Camp Market
In his desire to find out the reasons traders have abandoned the Scout Camp market to trade on the roadside, Oyo State Governor, Engr Oluseyi Makinde paid an unscheduled visit to the traders.
Governor Makinde revealed that following a subsequent meeting with the traders, the State Government decided to reduce the rent in both lock-up and open stalls in the market.
He said the rent reduction is to encourage the traders utilise the market stalls and stop trading on the roadside for their safety, and for ensuring that the free flow of traffic is not hindered by the roadside trading.
The State Governor also promised that his administration will provide the necessary amenities in the market.
