In a significant development, the Chairman of Olorunsogo Local Government Area of Oyo state, Honorable Qozeem Olayanju has successfully restored electricity to the council secretariat after a five-year blackout.

The chairman’s efforts have also extended to the Keso community, where financial support was provided to repair a vandalized transformer, restoring power to the community after a two-month outage.

This was made known in a statement made available to newsmen by the media office of the chairman on Wednesday, in Igbeti.

According to the release, through dialogue with the Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company (IBEDC), the chairman negotiated a payment plan to settle the council’s outstanding debts for the past five years, paving the way for the restoration of electricity to the secretariat.

The chairman’s intervention has brought relief to the Keso community, where the repaired transformer has restored power to the area.

However, to ensure safety and avoid further attack on the transformer, the council chairman also collaborated with local security guards, vigilantes, for 24hrs protection of the property

This development demonstrates the Olayanju’s commitment to the development of the council and his dedication to improving the lives of residents.

It reads in part: “I am thrilled to announce that after five long years, our council secretariat has been reconnected to the power grid, thanks to our tireless efforts and negotiations with Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company (IBEDC).
