Council Chair, Akintayo Holds 6th Annual Ramadan Lecture

The 6th Annual Ramadan Lecture hosted by Hon Ibrahim Akintayo, Executive Chairman of Ibadan North East Local Government, proved to be a resounding success, attracting a diverse array of community leaders, religious scholars, and prominent personalities in the Council Area and Oyo State at large.

The event, held on March 27, 2024, at the Council’s Main Hall, focused on the theme “PRESENT ECONOMIC PREDICAMENT IN NIGERIA, CAUSES AND WAY OUT ISLAMIC PROSPECTIVE,” offering insightful discussions and constructive dialogue.

In a release signed by the Council’s Information Officer, Ikeoye Oyetoro, Hon Ibrahim Akintayo, widely known as O mu Yes, highlighted the pervasive economic challenges confronting Nigeria, emphasizing the need for compassion and unity in overcoming these obstacles.

As the Aare Akeweje Musulumi Of Yorubaland, he underscored the importance of adhering to Islamic principles of mutual love and the fear of Allah, particularly during the holy month of Ramadan.

Additionally, the Chairman pledged to prioritize investments in the educational sector to combat youth hooliganism and secure a brighter future for the community’s children and youths.

The guest speaker, Sheikh Abdulakeem Ajigini amubikahun, Chairman of Arabic Centers in Ibadan North East Local Government, delivered a thought-provoking address, stressing the collective responsibility of citizens towards national development. Sheikh Ajigini advocated for the provision of quality education and the elimination of gender and age-based discrimination as crucial steps towards fostering a prosperous society.

Distinguished guests gracing the occasion included Alhaji Isiak Fatokun, Party Chairman; Mrs. Rachel Olabode, Head of Local Government Administration; Dr. (Mrs.) Rashidat Olanrewaju, Director of Administration and General Services; Alhaji Ahmed Lateef, Director of Finance and Supplies; other Heads of Departments ,esteemed religious and market leaders, staff and good people of Ibadan North East Local Government.

Hon Ibrahim Akintayo expressed sincere appreciation to all attendees, including Imams, Alfas, SAs, Councillors, and members of the Association of Widows in Ibadan North East Local Government, for their unwavering support and active participation.
