Omo Iya Eleja, the New Nigeria People’s Party ( NNPP ) Federal house of representatives candidate for Ibadan Northeast and Southeast federal constituency in his Sallah statement, urged the Muslim faithfuls to imbibe the lesson of sacrifice which the Eid-el-Kabir symbolises.
He said, “ On this special day, I felicitate with our Muslim brothers and sisters on the celebration of the Eid-el-Kabir festivities, pray that Almighty Allah will accept the acts of worship and restore ultimate peace and harmony in all parts of the state and country.
” I urge everyone to imbibe the lesson of sacrifice that it symbolises; Beyond personal convictions, we all have a deeper and greater responsibility to God and humanity”.
The NNPP Ibadan Northeast, Southeast Federal Representatives candidate also appealed to the Muslims to concentrate more on the poor and vulnerables in the society urged not to be forgotten by demonstrating brotherly concern and love.
“Let us not forget the poor and vulnerable living in our environment, Allah (God) told us to share from what we have with them especially at this period. Let us demonstrate brotherly concern, compassion and give succour to those unable to help themselves during the Sallah.
” Moreso, it is very imperative to implore all Muslims and Christians who have attained voting age to go and collect their Permanent Voter’s Card ( PVC), it is the ONLY weapon to change our society for better.
” We have been trying to get it right by electing good leaders, representatives but not yet got it right, but we are having another chance in 2023, the election is there for us to correct the errors we made in 2019. There is need for us to shun vote buying for the betterment of coming generations; we need to vote for credible and traceable candidates come 2023.” May God bless Nigeria.
