The former deputy governor of Oyo state, Barr Hazeem Gbolarumi has cautioned the believe that he withdrew from the Oyo PDP governorship primary, saying he only recognized Seyi Makinde as a sitting governor at the venue of the party primary.

Gbolarumi who spoke through his Ade Ori Okin Team Director-General, Hon Minkail Makanjuola Aborode said, the governorship aspirant, Gbolarumi never supported the conducted primary election because the delegate’s list has been doctored to favor governor Seyi Makinde, added that, the illegality would be challenged in earnest.

According to his statement ” This is to draw the attention of the public to news in circulation that Barr Hazeem Gbolarumi, a Gubernatorial aspirant in Oyo State PDP stepped down at the venue of the convection for incumbent Governor, Engr Seyi Makinde. At no time did Barr Gbolarumi make the pronouncement of withdrawal from the election. Acknowledgment of a sitting Governor should not be misconstrued as adoption, this is just courtesy.

In his speech at the convection, Barr Gbolarumi rejected the composition of the delegates. Quoting him “what delegates do you want me to address, having intimidated, brutalized, and sent out delegates who identified with me” Affront by NURTW members against delegates loyal to Barr Gbolarumi who had already checked in, just before the commencement of the program was witnessed by all. Many of these delegates were severely injured and treated in hospitals.

Inappropriate delegates were used for the conduct of the election, thus, the process is rejected by Barr Hazeem Gbolarumi. This illegality will not be allowed to stand. Appropriate actions will be taken to seek redress.
