Our Target Is To Have A More Productive Workforce – Makinde

The Governor of Oyo State Engineer, Seyi Makinde has reaffirmed the present administration’s commitment to the training and re-training of its workforce for an enhanced service delivery that would be beneficial to all participants and the State.

Governor Makinde made this known
at the training workshop organised by the Ministry of Establishments and Training for Civil/Public Servants Held at Ibadan Business School Bodija, Ibadan.

The Governor, who was represented at the event by the Secretary to the State Government, Mrs Olubamiwo Adeosun said Public/Civil Service is the engine room of any administration and there is the need to train and re-train officers in the State in other to discharge their duties efficiently.

The Secrerary to the State Government hinted that the present government, led by Governor Seyi Makinde places high premium on training, saying that the governor had approved the year 2020 training work plan for the Ministry of Establishments and Training.

“Let me appreciate the ingenuity of the Ministry of Establishments in fashioning out this workshop that will positively sharpen the skills of officers for better perfomance, the onus lies in you as public servants to prove your mettle in order to assist the Government achieve its laudable welfarist objectives through applications of what you are going to learn during this workshop.”

She reiterated further that by the end of the training workshop, the capacity of everyone present would have been greatly improved to contribute maximally to the development of the State public service and Oyo State at large, adding that much is expected from the bureaucrats in synergy with the political class.

In his remarks, the State Commissioner for Establishments and Training Professor. Daud Sangodoyin enjoined the participants to key into the developmental agenda of the present administration, that had deemed it fit to organise the training workshop in order to improve their skills and meet up with the challenges of the modern ways of doing things.
