The crisis rocking the Ogun state chapter of the All Progressives congress (APC) on Wednesday took another dimension as the embattled National Chairman of the party, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole alleged that the governor of the state senator Ibikunle Amosun was blackmailing him to succumb to the governor’s selfish desires.

It would be recalled that Westerndailynews reported few days ago that Governor Amosun, led a delegation of elders from Ogun state to meet President Muhamadu Buhari in Abuja over fallout of the governorship crisis in the state.

The crisis started as the leadership of the party in Ogun state and the National Working Committee (NWC) of the party endorsed Dapo Abiodun, who is from Remo, as the party’s candidate while Amosun was supporting candidature of Adekunle Akinlade, who is from Ipokia, Yewa part of the state.

Westerndailynews gathered that President Buhari had issued ultimatum to national chairman of the party to resolve the issue amicably between the two factions in the state to avoid defeat in the forthcoming general elections in 2019.
The source close to Oshiomhole told Westerndailynews that “the National Chairman is surprised by the statements in the media that he was given a matching order by President Buhari to clear the mess arising from the primaries, especially in Ogun State.”

Oshiomhole claiming the Ogun state governor want to turn himself to party authoritarian in Ogun State while the APC constitution is against such moves. Amosun also accused Oshiomhole of conniving “with a cabal in Lagos” to write fake results after the party’s primaries which produced Dapo Abiodun as the governorship candidate.

He further said: “the National Chairman is surprised by the statements in the media that he was given a matching order by President Buhari to clear the mess arising from the primaries, especially in Ogun State.”
