The Executive Chairman of Ibadan North-East Local Government area of Ibadan, Hon. Ibrahim Akintayo, has commended Oyo State Governor, ‘Seyi Makinde, for prioritising healthcare development through the recruitment of 3,933 health professionals across the state.

Akintayo gave the commendation during the official induction ceremony of the newly recruited health workers, describing the exercise as a landmark intervention that would significantly strengthen healthcare delivery, particularly at the grassroots level.

The health workers, drawn from various professional cadres, expressed deep appreciation to Governor Makinde for the employment opportunity, noting that the gesture demonstrates the administration’s commitment to improving primary healthcare services and promoting citizens’ welfare.

In his appreciation speech, Akintayo—popularly known as “O MU YES”—thanked the governor for creating jobs for thousands of professionals while addressing critical manpower gaps in the health sector.

He noted that the recruitment exercise would translate into better access to quality healthcare for residents, especially in rural and underserved communities, adding that the move reflects purposeful leadership and people-centred governance.

According to him, the induction of the health workers signals a new phase of renewed hope for communities across Oyo State, as additional skilled hands have been deployed to support effective healthcare delivery.

The newly inducted health workers, in their remarks, pledged to justify the confidence reposed in them by the state government, assuring that they would discharge their duties with diligence, professionalism, and a strong sense of responsibility.
