32 Oyo Lawmakers Pass Vote Of Confidence on Makinde, Olaniyan

Lawmakers in the Oyo State House of Assembly have passed a vote of confidence on executive governor of Oyo state, Seyi Makinde and his Deputy Engr. Rauf Aderemi Olaniyan.

This followed a motion moved during plenary session at the Assembly on Tuesday by Hon. Akintunde of Lagelu state constituency.

The motion also called on journalists attached to the Assembly and freelance journalists to always be fair and unbias in their news reporting.

Deputy Speaker, Hon. Muhammed Fadeyi while speaking as a trained journalist, he advised pressmen covering the House seatings to always be factual, do much investigation on news tips before publication.

Speaking on the vote of confidence, House Minority Leader, Rt. Hon. Asimiyu Alarape supported the move for the House to speak out their immense support to the administration of Seyi Makinde and his Deputy Rauf Olaniyan. Alarape said, it is high time for all the lawmakers to made public their support for Makinde government, irrespective of political parties.

Speaker of the House, Rt. Hon. Ogundoyin who adopted the motion commendated the efforts of the Assembly pressmen in making the House activities known to public, also implored all the pen writers to desist from junk journalism, said every published news is meant for the world to consume and it is against the ethics of journalism to report fake news.

Ogundoyin rubbished a report spreading around that, there was a time a political leader gathered lawmakers in an Hotel with clandestine meeting to impeach governor or his deputy.
