Shortage Of Water At UCH, Patients React

Patients at the University College Hospital, UCH, Ibadan have continued to react to the shortage of water supply in the last few weeks.

They gave their reactions in separate interviews with Radio Nigeria.

Some of them while lamenting the difficulties they were facing in the last few weeks, said they had to use their personal money to buy water to bathe and flush.

Similarly, a patient who spoke under the condition of anonymity said doctors could not perform his surgery on him due to shortage of water supply.

Reacting on behalf of the management of UCH, the Public Relations Officer, PRO, Mr Toye Akinrinlola said the entire water system of the hospital is presently being overhauled for the next two weeks while noting that it had not happened in the last sixty-three years.

Mr Akinrinlola who regretted the situation on the ground also said five blocks in the hospital had been shut down due to massive renovation which was ongoing.
