Prominent Ogbomoso Kingmaker, Passes Away
The town of Ogbomoso is mourning the loss of one of its most revered traditional leaders, High Chief Tijani Abioye, who passed away on Sunday due to age-related health complications.
Until his death, Chief Abioye held the prestigious title of *Bara of Ogbomosoland*, ranking third among the six recognized kingmakers in the ancient town. Installed in the early 1980s by the late Soun of Ogbomoso, Oba Oladunni Oyewumi Ajagungbade III, Abioye played a key role in traditional governance and community affairs.

“He was not just a senior kingmaker; he also led the community’s farming sector and was deeply respected,” a family source told the *DAILY POST*. His passing signifies the end of an era in Ogbomoso’s traditional leadership and leaves a notable void in the town’s council of kingmakers.
High Chief Abioye’s legacy as a custodian of tradition and advocate for agricultural development will be long remembered.
