Oyo Assembly To Begins Live Streaming Of Plenary
The Oyo State House of Assembly will soon begin live streaming of its plenary sessions as part of plans to further keep members of the public abreast of deliberations and resolutions at its sittings.
The Speaker, Oyo State House of Assembly, Hon Adebo Ogundoyin disclosed this when he unveiled the maiden edition of the State House of Assembly Service Commission Newsletter tagged “The Oyo Specter” .
The Newsletter was presented to the Speaker by the Chairman of the House of Assembly Service Commission, Hon AbdulWasi Musah alongside other members of the Commission.
Hon Ogundoyin said necessary facilities and gadgets are being put in place to ensure live streaming of the plenaries , adding that the initiative is in line with the resolve of the 9th Oyo State House of Assembly to do things differently.
” The live streaming is meant to truly showcase the Oyo State House of Assembly as the pacesetter in the Country. When fully operational, many states of the Federation will learn a lot from us and it will be a further testament to the fact that we are House of innovation. Every necessary thing is being put in place towards the commencement of the live streaming. ” Oyo Speaker said.
He commended the Oyo Assembly Service Commission for coming up with a quarterly Newsletter to showcase the activities of the Commission and described the Commission’s Chairman, Hon AbdulWasi Musah as a resilient and dynamic adminstrator.
In his remarks shortly before presenting the magazine to the Speaker, the chairman of the Commission, Dr Abdulwasi Musah said the Newsletter was introduced to periodically highlight the landmark achievements of both the 9th Oyo State House of Assembly and the commission, promote management-staff relationship as well as showcase productivity,welfare and progress of the staff including appointments, promotions, transfers, capacity building and conversions.
Dr Abdulwasi Musah lauded the leadership of the 9th Oyo State House of Assembly for working harmoniously with the Commission towards achieving its set goals
He said the Commission had recorded some giant strides within the few months of its inauguration on the 16th of December, 2019.
Other issues discussed at the presentation ceremony included welfare of staff of House of Assembly and that of the Commission as well as amendment of some laws relating to the house of Assembly and the commission.
