Loyalists of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chieftain, Alhaji Adebisi Aremu Olopoeyan, converged in Ogbomoso on Wednesday for a zonal meeting aimed at reaffirming their allegiance to the influential political figure and strengthening grassroots support for the PDP ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The meeting, which drew party faithful from across the Ogbomoso zone, was co-chaired by Hon. Paul Adeniyi Esupofo and Hon. Ajagbe Onirese, prominent political figures in the zone.
In his remarks, Esupofo described Olopoeyan as a “pillar of progressive politics” in Oyo State, whose leadership and commitment to the PDP remain a guiding force for many.
“Olopoeyan is our political leader, and we will continue to appreciate his political leadership. His political steps and journey are worth emulating,” Esupofo said, receiving cheers from attendees.
Speakers at the event, Hon. Onirese, praised Governor Seyi Makinde for what they termed “exemplary governance” in the state. The loyalists expressed confidence that the cordial relationship between Governor Makinde and Alhaji Olopoeyan would further consolidate the PDP’s position and deliver electoral victories in 2027.
The gathering ended with a renewed call for unity among members, as stakeholders emphasized the need for strategic planning and unwavering loyalty to leadership at both the ward, local, and state levels.
The Olopoeyan loyalists are expected to continue their zonal engagements in other parts of the state as part of a broader political mobilization drive.
The Ogbomoso Olopoeyan Loyalists meeting was attended by well-known stakeholders, including Chief Mrs Roselen from Ogbomosho North local government, Elder Oladosu from Ogo Oluwa, Hon Mrs Afusat Oladele from Surulere Local government, Hon Sunday Ojetunde from Orire local government, and others.
