Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde has pledged his administration’s support for the Minister of Power, Chief Adebayo Adelabu and his ministry in the effort to improve on electricity distribution and supply in Oyo State.
Governor Makinde gave the assurance on Monday while hosting the Minister in his office in Ibadan.
The Governor declared that the State Government will take full advantage of the newly signed 2023 Electricity Regulation Law.
He said his administration will sign the State version of the law as soon as the State House of Assembly passes the relevant bill.
Governor Makinde also hinted that the 10 megawatt Independent Power Project his administration embarked upon in the first term would be commissioned in a matter of weeks.
Unveiling the purpose of his visit to the State, the Minister of Power, Chief Adebayo Adelabu said he was on an assessment tour of power supply and distribution facilities in the State and to further discuss areas of partnership and collaboration with the State Government.
