Twenty – One Five Child Foundation, a non-governmental organization has advised teenage pregnant women to prioritize skills acquisition for self-reliance, saying it is key to driving women’s development across the divide.

The founder, of Twenty-one Five Child Foundation, Ambassador Tolu Taiwo stated these in Ibadan on Saturday while addressing pregnant teenage women in a program held to celebrate this year Int’l Women’s Day, at Adaramagbo Primary Health Center, Academy, Olomi, Ibadan.

Her foundation organized the program to help them navigate through the changing of life and make the right decisions at all times.

According to Ambassador Tolu Taiwo, Twenty-one Five Child Foundation was established to Support, Educate, and Empower pregnant teenagers on basic maternity practices for safe delivery as well as to improve birth outcomes and ensure that birth practices are clean and safe

Ambassador Tolu, who spoke on this year’s theme, tagged “ Accelerate action,” explained how better society can get if women are rightly empowered.

Present at the 2025 International Women’s Day celebration organized by the
Twenty-one Five Child Foundation was commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Inclusion, Hon. Chief Mrs. Toyin Balogun, who acknowledged the effort of Ambassador Tolu Taiwo and her foundation for educating and encouraging many teenage pregnant girls in the society.

She advised them not to lose hope irrespective of their predicament, stating that their present situation should not define their aspiration but be an inspiration towards greater heights.

She advised the pregnant teenagers to accept their situation with faith, urged them to be content with what they have, and stay focused.

The commissioner, on behalf of the Oyo state government, gave out cash to support the pregnant girls; she said her ministry, with the support of Governor Seyi Makinde, has created a platform to nurture young women with parental issues, unwanted pregnancies, and all sorts.

Also speaking, the coordinator, Entrepreneur Development Centre, Samonda, Ibadan, Mr. Femi, urged the teenagers not to relent in their quest to find a better future and their unborn children.

He advised them to learn vocational skills to empower themselves economically to help reduce poverty and vulnerability
