Ido Local Government Area has been thrown into mourning following the death of the Supervisory Councillor for Health, Hon. Adegbengade Gbenga.
The passing of the council official was confirmed on Monday morning by family members and close associates.
Sources close to the family, who spoke on condition of anonymity, disclosed that the late councillor had been battling an undisclosed ailment for some time before his demise.
Hon. Adegbengade Gbenga was known for his commitment to public health initiatives and grassroots healthcare delivery within Ido Local Government Area, where she served until her death.
As of the time of filing this report, the local government authorities are yet to issue an official statement, while details of burial arrangements are expected to be announced by the family in due course.
Her death has left a void in the local administration and among colleagues who described her as dedicated and service-oriented.
