Gunmen Kidnap Ex-Minister Adelabu’s Sister, Twin Sons in Ibadan


Gunmen have kidnapped the sister of former Minister of Power, Chief Adebayo Adelabu, along with her twin sons in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.
The victims were identified as Mrs. Olaide Busayo Adegoke John-Paul, 43, and her 12-year-old twin sons, Peter and Paul.

According to reports, the three were abducted by armed men in the early hours of Wednesday, June 3, 2026, while Mrs. John-Paul was on her way to drop her children at school.
Sources disclosed that the incident occurred at about 7:30 a.m. when the gunmen intercepted the vehicle conveying the victims and forcefully whisked them away to an unknown destination.
The abduction has sparked concern among residents and family members, with calls for urgent action by security agencies to secure the safe release of the victims.
Confirming the incident, Mr. Femi Awogboro, media aide to the former minister, said Mrs. John-Paul and her twin sons were indeed kidnapped by gunmen.

As of the time of filing this report, details surrounding the circumstances of the abduction remained sketchy, while security operatives were yet to provide an official update on efforts being made to rescue the victims and apprehend the perpetrators.
The incident adds to growing concerns over insecurity and cases of kidnapping in parts of the country, prompting renewed calls for strengthened security measures to protect lives and property.
