Gov. Makinde Committed To The Standard Of Living Of State Workers – Amb. Olawore

The Ibadan-born UN ambassador, Mogaji Abdulsabur Abiola Olawore, has commended Governor Seyi Makinde for the approval of 80,000 as minimum wage for the state civil servants.

Makinde’s approval of the new minimum wage for Oyo workers follows recommendations from a technical committee comprising government and labour representatives tasked with implementing the revised wage structure

In a statement issued to recognize Governor Makinde’s efforts to Oyo state workers, Mogaji Olowore said, “It is a thing of joy to note that His Excellency, Seyi Makinde joined his counterparts in other states to approve the new minimum wage, Governor Makinde has also raised the bar with the approval of a wage beyond the N70,000 benchmark.

” The approved new minimum wage in Oyo will no doubt boost the workers’ morale and work ethic”. Mogaji Olawore says the development would encourage workers to invest in their professional growth and take pride in their contributions to the state.

Mogaji Olawore while commending the governor noted with satisfaction that Seyi Makinde is committed
to uplifting the standard of living of local govt and state workers, including pensioners, through regular and timely payment of valuable salaries and pensions.

He therefore called on state workers to focus on delivering good quality service to members of the public, reminding them that as civil servants, they are ultimately accountable to the people.

Mogaji Olawore also calls on all citizens of the state irrespective of political, tribal, and religious affiliations to join hands together with Governor Makinde to foster an enabling environment of trust and collaboration, by recognizing the positive impact of Government efforts at alleviating poverty through a committed intervention that will bring change that will enhance the high quality of life for all.
